In news that has left us missing Love Island, Maura Higgins and Chris Taylor have kissed after months of romance rumours linking them romantically.
The Love Island pair, who met on the 2019 series of the show, sent the rumour mill into overdrive earlier this year when Chris was pictured leaving Maura’s Essex home following her split from Curtis Pritchard.
Although both Maura and Chris have insisted they’re just friends, we’re not sure what to believe anymore after he planted a massive smacker on her lips.
The shock smooch occurred when Chris took on the kiss your best friend challenge for a TikTok video which sees him whip off his shirt before lifting up Maura and leaning in for a kiss as he puts her back down on the ground.
While she pushes him away at first, Maura appears to lean in to kiss Chris back when the clip suddenly cuts off.
What happens next? We simply must know.
Chris later shared the video on Instagram and wrote, 'Kiss your best friend challenge @maurahiggins. Cheers TikTok… bloody fantastic idea, probs shouldn’t have lunged in fairness. If anyone’s confused about why I took my top off… go watch Crazy Stupid Love immediately.'
Maura commented, 'Stop trying to kiss your best friend,' but fans were loving the video and flooded the comments section to beg the BFFs to get together.
'She so came back to kiss you in the end. Stop with the sexual tension and just dooo ittt,' wrote one. Another added, 'Oh ffs be an item… both are too damn sexy together,' while a third commented, 'Actually you two suit so much.'
Maura and Chris have always denied ever being romantically involved, with Chris shutting down the rumours during an appearance on Vicky Pattison’s The Secret To podcast back in August. 'No, no, we’re not,' he replied when asked if they were getting together. 'We’ve never really thought about it like that, we’re just super close mates. We care about each other, we look out for each other, we basically bully each other.'
Meanwhile Maura, who was recently spotted on a date with actor Bradley James, told MailOnline, 'Chris is one of my best friends. A lot of people have said we're dating but it's only because we get on so well. We click and have the same banter. We got on so well in the villa but I don't think our friendship was shown at all.'
