One of our favourite Love Island couples, Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins{ =nofollow}, have decided to part ways. Much to the disappointment of fans, the pair - who met on last year’s summer series and were together for eight months - announced their split last night, saying that there were ‘no bad feelings’ and that they tried their best to make it work.

‘Curtis and I have made the decision to separate,’ she shared on Instagram stories to her 2.8 million followers. ‘We enjoyed a great experience from our time in the villa and want to thank everyone for supporting our relationship.’ The reality star continued: ‘There is no easy way to get through a break-up and no bad feeling on either side. We tried to make it work but it wasn't to be and I wish Curtis nothing but the best for the future.’ However, Curtis hasn’t yet addressed the split on his own social media pages.

Since leaving the villa, the couple have both had incredibly busy schedules - with professional dancer Curtis appearing as a receptionist on The Greatest Dancer, and Maura starring on Dancing On Ice.

Disputing cheating rumours earlier this year, Curtis said, 'It is nonsense. You can’t hug somebody or talk to somebody in this day and age without something coming out. Me and Maura are completely fine… I have found love.’
