The Olsen twins are renowned for sharing as little as humanly possible about their private lives. Sure, they're our go-to resource for fresh style inspo, but you won’t find them on social media (they eschew Instagram) and their combined romantic life a mystery to many over the years.
Die-hard M-K & Ashley fans went into a frenzy after it was revealed Mary-Kate Olsen was revealed to be dating 47-year-old French financier, Oliver Sarkozy (half brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy). The pair got hitched in 2015. Naturally, it was a very closed affair, with attendees reportedly asked to turn off their mobile phones (although, rumour has it, the main party decor consisted of bowls of cigarettes. Hmm).
But now the fashionista has opened up about details of her relationship for the first time, in a new interview with The Edit. Spoiler: they’re pretty normal.
'I think we’re lucky [working hard] comes quite naturally for us,’ Mary-Kate says. ‘We don’t need so much time to sit and think and ponder. But then I have a husband, two step-kids [Julien, 15, and Margot, 13] and a life; I have to go home and cook dinner.’
Her zen activity when she’s out of office? ‘I ride horses on the weekends,’ she adds. ‘You find the thing that helps you relax and if you don’t have it, you have to look for it. Or you get burned out and then you’re not productive.’
