For many of us, Married At First Sight Australia has been a key source of happiness throughout this difficult winter lockdown. While the rain pours outside and the temperature proves frosty, the dramatic exploits of a group of Antipodean love rats has kept us distracted. We've laughed, we've cried, we've cringed. But we were getting a little worried about what would happen when the current season wraps up on Monday. Luckily, we don't have to be concerned: the next series will be with us in a matter of months.
That means more affairs, more arguments and more tears, both happy and sad. Even more conspiracy theories! We can hardly contain ourselves.
That's right folks. E4 has just announced that Married at First Sight Australia Season 7 will be airing as soon as this summer. The specific date is yet to be announced, but we could be seeing it as soon as June. Naturally, we're hoping that the lifting of lockdown regulations means that we'll be to busy dining with friends and family to focus on nightly viewings of MAFS, but we'll certainly take a day off from drinking for a weekend binge session.
It's no wonder E4 were so eager to confirm the news. Married at First Sight Australia, a representative for the channel says, is 'currently drawing a huge consolidated average audience of 1.3m viewers and a 6.0% share of audience and 14.0% 16-34 share. The series has been the biggest All 4 title every week since launch.' That's not too shabby when All4 has such a wide range of programmes, no least Channel 4's hit show It's A Sin. An additional report states that Season 8 will follow soon after, but since it's still airing Down Under we can understand a need for patience at this point.
Married at First Sight Australia season 6 currently airs Monday to Fridays at 8:30PM on E4
