Last night, Arabella Chi, 28-year old model from London entered the Love Island villa. Her entrance was a shock to the other Islanders, not just because she randomly appeared lounging in the garden just after they woke up, but also because she is basically a full-on supermodel. And apparently, no less surprised was 2018 Islander Charlie Frederick, who has claimed he is still ‘seeing’ Arabella ‘on a serious level’.

‘Right so this is all an absolute madness for me, finding out that a person I'm seeing/have a lot of feelings for, on a serious level has just strolled into the villa completely disregarding my feelings and our relationship or what we had, I feel like I have to air these screen shots because I feel like I've been completely mugged off,’ he said on Instagram, ‘I'm truly upset that Arabella has lied to me about what she was doing and claiming she had a campaign but instead actioning going into Love Island.’

Honestly, reading his words, you may feel sorry for Charlie. He thought they were serious, he had strong feelings for her, he’s in shock at her looking for love elsewhere. Then you get to ‘I feel like I have to air these screen shots because I feel like I've been completely mugged off’ and suddenly, you recoil. Of course, anyone would feel upset if they thought they were seriously seeing someone who then turned up on a dating TV show. But to share private messages they sent in some sort of weird revenge for being ‘mugged off’? That’s where we draw the line.

‘Like any relationship we had our ups and downs but these next few screen shots are all within the last 2 weeks,’ he continued, ‘I'm truly gutted and cannot for the life of me figure out why she has done this.’

Cue the screenshots, which he has since deleted, that show a back and forth between the pair with Arabella asking Charlie to come and see her to which he tells her he ‘cba’. ‘Can you hurry back now please… could do with you here right now’ the messages read, ‘I just want to hold you and be in your arms…Please babe…I’m actually begging you’. Charlies response? ‘I really cba tonight bella I’m so tired,’ repeating that he ‘really cba to move’, to which she replies ‘Ok [sad face emoji]

The invasion of privacy by sharing her messages is one thing, but even in the context of these posts, can anyone blame Arabella for jetting off to Love Island to find someone who actually can be arsed to see her? The only thing Charlie has proven with these messages is that he is both a terrible boyfriend and ex.

Because, as well as his attempts to discredit Arabella when she entered Love Island, he's also taken the opportunity to slag off his other ex Lucie Donlan, who's also a contestant on this year's show. He told the Mail Online:

[She's] most definitely not looking for love. She's only 21. I hope she's going in there with the right intentions. She'll get a couple of Instagram followers on the way, if you know what I mean.

‘I don't even need to say she used my name to get famous,’ the former Love Island contestant (who was in the villa for literally five days) continued, ‘You've got to do what you've got to do to get the Z-list fame.’

You canu2019t masturbate

With rumours swirling that Sherif was booted from the villa for masturbating in the shower, The Sun reported that he would 'spend hours' in there - however, he wasn't necessarily masturbating himself. 'When producers told Islanders they have to get ready to film a challenge, Sherif was deliberately spending ages in the shower. He said he couldn't be bothered,' the source said. Avoiding challenges or participating in some healthy self-care? All we know is 2 months without masturbating is a long time to go...

Despite attempting to humiliate both his exes online, he has since been called out online, with one Twitter user saying, ‘Sorry but if my man was responding to my messages like this, I’d be on the first plane to Love Island too 😭’, to the tune of near 35,000 likes.

There’s no doubt his plan to embarrass Arabella and Lucie will surely turn some viewers against them, but ultimately it seems like their having the last laugh by taking the high road and actually, becoming close friends. ‘Hey! You’re my exes ex aren’t you…I’ve definitely stalked you before’, Lucie casually greeted Arabella with last night, to which Arabella insinuated her and Charlie weren’t ever serious saying ‘well not ex’.

The hilarious moment served both the women well, proving that women don’t automatically hate each other just because they have a romantic partner in common, a scarce narrative for Love Island. Going on to get in bed together for the night, their friendship looks to be the best thing to come out of their connection to Charlie Frederick.
