Lorraine Kelly just went off on Jennifer Arcuri on live TV after Arcuri’s Good Morning Britain interview saw her avoid questions about Boris Johnson. The (honestly hilarious) video of Kelly questioning Arcuri has now been widely-shared online, with many commending Kelly’s questions.

The interaction happened straight after the Arcuri’s interview with Good Morning Britain hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, who had Arcuri on the show to discuss her new allegations that Johnson has treated her like a ‘gremlin’ since she spoke about their alleged four-year affair.

After the unsuccessful interview saw Arcuri swerve questions about her relationship with Johnson, saying she did not want to be ‘pressured into admitting’ anything, Morgan handed over to Lorraine to introduce what was coming up on her show, The Lorraine Kelly Show, which airs after GMB.

‘That was crazy wasn’t it? What’s the point, coming on and not answering any questions?’ Kelly said, seemingly unaware that Arcuri’s video link was still live. Looking awkwardly over to the screen, Morgan asked Arcuri if she wanted to respond to Kelly’s comments, with Kelly seemingly taking over his job.

‘What is the point of you coming on TV to clear the air and then you don’t say anything?’ Kelly asked, to which Arcuri replied, ‘I believe I said a few things. What is it that you’re looking for that I should say?’

Unwilling to enter into a new debate, Kelly concluded ‘You didn’t answer any of the questions that were put to you, and I just don’t see the point of you coming on to be honest,’ before laughing off the interaction with an awkward ‘anyway!’ and going on to introduce her show.

The video has now been shared widely online, with plenty of people supporting Kelly for saying ‘what everyone’s thinking’, with many calling it ‘the best part of the interview’.

Arcuri was at the centre of a political row earlier this year when it was alleged she had a four-year affair with Johnson – whose business support over the course of a decade led to her receiving public funds. As such, Johnson was accused of using public money improperly since he never declared a personal interest when supporting her requests for government business contracts or public funds.

She made headlines once again yesterday after telling ITV’s Exposure that Johnson cut her off during the media storm. She has never confirmed an affair, however, has made comments such as ‘when the story broke half the people that reached out told me to categorically deny, deny, deny; the other half told me to admit the affair, fall on the sword get it over with.’

‘I've been nothing but loyal, faithful, supportive, and a true confidante of yours,’ she said on Exposure, addressing Johnson directly. ‘I've kept your secrets, and I've been your friend. And I don't understand why you've blocked me and ignored me as if I was some fleeting one-night stand or some girl that you picked up at a bar because I wasn't – and you know that.

‘And I'm terribly heartbroken by the way that you have cast me aside like I am some gremlin,’ she concluded.

The comments appear to imply there was an affair and Arcuri has repeatedly promised to ‘reveal the truth’ about their relationship in interviews yet continues to avoid questions about it.

And so it seems Kelly is speaking up for the public once and for all on the issue. Now, we only wish she could sit aside Jeremy Paxman and throw similar questions at the many powerful figures who have made a career out of avoiding questions.

And so the real question now is: was this Lorraine Kelly or the actor that plays Lorraine Kelly?
