TikTok sensation Loren Gray has disclosed a 'wild fact' about Coachella influencers: many of them don't actually attend the California festival, despite what their social media platforms may suggest.
Loren, who celebrates her 21st birthday this week, took to her TikTok account over the weekend to 'validate' her 54.4m followers' 'FOMO [fear of missing out]' about this year's Coachella festival, which runs between 14 and 23 April.
The almost ten-day-long event welcomes a stellar crowd year in, year out. And while it seems like the perfect content opportunity for the influencers out there, Loren has claimed that many simply go to the desert to capture their next post... and then leave, without soaking up any of the actual festival.
Addressing her followers, the social media star began, 'I haven't seen anyone personally talk about this, but I think it's hilarious, and I have to share it because it's Coachella.'
Loren - who rose to fame on TikTok in 2016 when it was musical.ly - labelled the festival the 'influencer Olympics', before continuing, 'But most influencers, or a lot of influencers, don’t even go to Coachella. And I think that this is such a wild fact.'
Explaining their routine, Loren claimed that they'll, 'go out to the desert, get an Airbnb, stay with someone, get their outfits, get their hair, get their makeup'.
'They don’t go to the festival,' Loren reiterated. 'They don’t have wristbands. They just drive their little butts out to the desert to take Instagram photos, make TikToks, get ready with me’s, whatever. Then they drive back, and that’s it.'
In a bid to make her envious fanbase feel better, the My Story singer concluded, 'So, if you feel boring and sad because you’re not at Coachella, just know that most of these people aren’t there either.
'It's a very common occurrence that I thought people knew, but I didn't see anyone talking about it. So, now you know.'
'You're so real for sharing this information,' one fan lauded.
A second pondered, 'I don't know how people don't actually stay because there are so many talented people at Coachella.'
'Never felt better about being broke,' a third joked.
