Over the weekend Lizzo - best known for hits like Juice, Truth Hurts and Good As Hell as well as for preaching body positivity and self-love - shared a screenshot to her TikTok account, making it clear that she had slid into the DMs of actor Chris Evans. Chris is best known for playing Captain America in the Marvel films, meaning that he had to spend months building a physique that has made him a sex symbol. He also became highly prized after accidentally sending an image of his penis, again on social media.
Anyway, Lizzo posted the message, a series of emojis - and said that she was ‘shooting her shot’. Lip syncing to music, she expressed that 'honestly it hurts me to the core, because damn papa, he a rare breed, no comparing', alongside a relatable caption: 'don’t drink and DM, kids…. for legal porpoises this is a joke.'
Chris could very well have missed the message, and he couldn't be blamed for choosing to ignore it if he did see it. But Lizzo has been rejoicing after he decided to respond, and has shared the screen grab to update her fans. 'No shame in a drunk DM,' he wrote to her, with a kiss emoji. 'God knows I’ve done worse on this app lol.' One can assume that he is referring to the aforementioned penis gaffe, but who knows.
Lizzo is not the only celebrity to slide into another public figure's DMs, of course. Sophie Turner - the Game of Thrones actress - met her husband Joe Jonas through social media. Priyanka Chopra met her husband Nick Jonas when he slid into her DMs. In short, the Jonas brothers are proving that we could all be a little more brave. But don't forget to take no for an answer. However many bottles of sauvignon you've sunk.
