Acting runs in some families. Dakota Johnson, Angelina Jolie, Margaret Qualley, Kate Hudson, Gwyneth Paltrow{ =nofollow}: there are reems of successful actors who have famous parents. But one actress we didn't know has a daughter already making moves in the acting world is Kate Winslet.

Since deciding she wanted to follow in her mother's footsteps, Mia Threapleton - Kate's 20-year-old daughter with filmmaker Jim Threapleton - has already starred in an independent thriller called Shadows. And speaking about her career on Lorraine, Kate recently revealed that she's currently filming another project for the small screen. 'She’s away just now in the Czech Republic about to start work on a TV series over there,' she said.

Kate has always believed that her daughter might want to become an actress, saying: 'I think I knew it was coming, I always suspected. And then a few years ago she turned around and said, "I think I would like to give it a go."'

Obviously, one of the reasons most of us haven't caught on that Mia is Kate's daughter is because Mia has her father Jim's surname. And the Titanic actress says this helped her 'slip under the radar' - with people in auditions not even making the connection. 'So that initial job out of the gate, she slipped right under the radar and the people who cast her had absolutely no idea she was my daughter,' she added. 'And, of course, that was my biggest fear.' She also added that it was important 'self-esteem' that she got the role herself.

If Kate's career is anything to go by, then Mia certainly has big things ahead.
