The White Lotus has come to on end for another season - and, true to style, it was a crazy ride! We had toxic trios, incredible scenery, age gap relationships, an incest storyline and a very violent ending. As we mourn our fave characters (Parker Posey your iconic portrayal of Victoria Ratliff will never be forgotten). The good news is that there are hints of season four are already underway, so hopefully we won't have to wait long before all the drama is back on our screens.

But it turns out the line-up could have been even more star-studded if a certain actress had been successful. Lily Allen recently revealed she once auditioned for a role in the show, but didn't hear back. Speaking on the latest episode of her podcast Miss Me, Lily told opened up about her acting career to co-host Miquita Oliver, explaining: 'I haven’t auditioned for anything really. I did do a self-tape for The White Lotus and obviously did not get it. But I think I’m a bit scared of doing self-tapes.'

Lily didn't reveal which part she auditioned for. 'Maybe now I would do them because I don't think people give as much of a s*** about me anymore,' she said. 'Back in the day I didn't like the idea of casting officers having a tape of me in case they would share it with other people. Now I don't really subscribe to that fear so much, I don't really care.'

Although Lilly is best known for her music career, she does have a few acting gigs under her belt, particularly when it comes to theatre. Lily has appeared in the West End shows 2:22: A Ghost Story, for which she was nominated for an Olivier Award, and The Pillowman.

On TV, Lily has had roles in the series Dreamland and How To Build A Girl. Lily told Miquita that auditioning for The White Lotus was part of a plan to 'put herself out there more' in her acting career and that she wants to act in a 'UK detective drama.'

Initially, fans of the star were surprised that Lily wanted to move from singing to acting. However, in a 2023 interview with The Times, Lily revealed that her music career was actually more surprising. '“It is the family business,” she said. 'If you were to look at me when I was 16 years old, people would have said, "Well, she’s obviously going to go and be an actress."'
