Fresh following the news that there’s going to be another series of Love Island, it has been reported that Laura Whitmore set to return as presenter. According to The Sun, the host has negotiated a big money deal, after impressing audiences and show bosses alike. ‘She’s a real professional, with a easy camera manner, and they love the combination of her hosting with her boyfriend — Iain Stirling — providing commentary,’ a source told the paper. ‘Her team at M&C Saatchi have more meetings with Love Island boss Richard Cowles in the diary and have laid out a deal to put to them for approval.’

During the final of the winter series - where Paige Turley and Finley Tapp were crowned champions after becoming the first official couple - it was revealed that the series would return for the summer. ‘If you’re at home and thinking, “Get me in that villa”, then I have a treat for you,’ she said. 'The next series we’ll be heading back to sunny Majorca this summer.’ (Fancy a stint in the villa? You can applyhere.)

The programme was dedicated to the late Caroline Flack, with Laura delivering an emotional tribute. ‘The past week has been extremely difficult coming to terms with the loss of our friend and colleague Caroline,' she said. 'We’ll be thinking of her family and everyone who knew her at this time. Caroline loved Love Island, she loved love, and that’s why tonight’s final is dedicated to her.' A montage of clips showing Caroline hosting the show, over the past five years, was then aired.
