Sometimes, when watching reality TV, we can't help but wonder whether the friendships are real. Like, are you actually mates - or are you just being friendly with each other because you're kind of working with each other. Or you just want to look like a nice person on camera? Luckily, our Bake Off faves Lottie Bedlow and Laura Adlington are the real deal - and they've been hanging out, and even baking, outside the realms of the Channel 4 show.

Lottie may have been eliminated from the competition during 80s Week after failing to impress judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood with her retro ice cream cake - but that didn't stop her from meeting up with Lottie to bake a tart. Uploading the cute pictures to Instagram, Lottie wrote: 'Me and pastry queen @laura.adlington made a chocolate hazelnut tart filled with blackberry curd and topped with a rich chocolate ganache. It didn’t set. I don’t mind.'

Laura uploaded more photos with the caption: 'Spent the weekend with @lottiegotcake making a tart that didn’t set and eating copious amounts of pasta #gbbo #friendsforever #greatbritishbakingshow.' Friends forever? Adorable.

(Still, we can't lie, that tart still looks better than any of our efforts in the kitchen.)

In other Bake Off news, this week fans were shocked to discover Noel Fielding's real age in this week's episode. Hosts Noel and Matt Lucas reminisced about the 80s theme throughout the show, and Noel told the bakers that he was nearing 50 - and that 'they’d have to be over 45 to get it'. Viewers then took to social media to share their disbelief after discovering that Noel is in fact 47, a year older than co-host Matt. Who knew?
