When Kylie Minogue turned 52 earlier this year, the Antipodean singer marked the occasion in a way that we could definitely get on board with: she’s released a new wine. The launch was a huge success - many a shelf was cleared by pop fans partial to a glass after work - and now she's gone one step further by launching a new vintage.

'I am so excited to debut the first of the Collection series', says Kylie. 'The Côtes de Provence is my first vintage! l look forward to seeing and hearing how people enjoy this beautifully pale, blush Provencal rosé.' She promises notes of watermelon, grapefruit and lemon blossom.

The singer, who has been a fixture in the industry for decades thanks to hits like Spinning Around, Can't Get You Out Of My Head and Wow, worked with Benchmark Drinks on this and the previous wine.

‘Working with the brilliant team at Benchmark Drinks we have created a Rosé that I am truly enamoured by,' she said earlier this year. 'It’s fresh, light and the perfect pink.’

Whereas the first launch was a Tesco exclusive, this can be found online, with a retail price of £18, while sophisticated Chelsea deli Colette is the exclusive UK destination for those who aren't so keen on online shopping. When the first product emerged in May, the bottle was spotted early at supermarkets across the UK, leading some to wonder if stockists had jumped the gun a little. Reports state that public interest in the surprise release led to the wine selling out in several shops. Reviews were positive. ‘Like we needed an excuse to drink more wine,' one Twitter user wrote. Another called it the 'best rosé wine ever'.

According to Benchmark’s reps, the wine is ‘created in the oldest winemaking region in France, Provence is famed for its lavender, sunflowers, olive trees and vines. Just west of St. Tropez lays the picturesque, palm-lined Domaine of Château des Anglades, perfectly situated on the Côte d’Azur. The 2019 vintage emanates alluring, expressive aromas of pink grapefruit, watermelon and lemon blossom. A crisp, dry and beautifully textured palate with zesty fruits leads to a long, silky mineral finish.'

Sounds delicious.
