Sound the alarm: Kumail Nanjiani posted a thirst trap to Instagram and its really quite something. The 41-year-old comedian and actor posted a shirtless picture yesterday showing off his body transformation ahead of his role in the new Marvel Eternal’s film – and celebrities and civilians alike are truly obsessed.
The Big Sick actor, known for playing the classic neurotic nerdy guy, said he decided to transform his body from his relatively small frame a year ago when he found out about his upcoming role. While he is clearly proud of his commitment, he does describe the process as ‘true physical pain’.
‘I never thought I’d be one of those people who would post a thirsty shirtless, but I’ve worked way too hard for way too long so here we are,’ he said in the Instagram caption. ‘I would not have been able to do this if I didn’t have a full year with the best trainers and nutritionists paid for by the biggest studio in the world. I’m glad I look like this, but I also understand why I never did before. It would have been impossible without these resources and time.’
Thanking his girlfriend for putting him with him complaining for a year, he promised her he would be interesting again one day. ‘Worth it,’ she commented on the picture.
But it was the reaction from his Hollywood friends that was most interesting. ‘This is ridiculous. This means anyone can get fit,’ Chelsea Handler joked. While the cast of Queer Eye, including Tan France and Jonathon Van Ness, couldn’t quite handle the heat coming off the picture. ‘Inevitably missed a couple, but here we are,’ Comments By Celebs said when posting the reaction.
Nanjiani is set to star in The Eternal’s opposite Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek and Richard Madden. Unfortunately, we won’t get to see his new ripped body in action until 6 November next year when the film is released. Well, at least we have his newfound love of shirtless selfies to tide us over until then.
