If you are Kim Kardashian West fan, doubtless you saw her Valentine's Day Instagram story. You know the one; the one where she laid out a list of all her lovers and haters and promised to send them each a V Day gift (one of her Limited Edition KIMOJI Heart fragrances) because, well, it was Valentine's Day.
On the lovers list, as expected, were her sisters Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner, as well as friends such as Mariah Carey and Hailey Baldwin.
More interestingly, perhaps, was who made it to her list of haters... Taylor Swift, Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan, Bette Midler, Sarah Michelle Geller and Chloe Grace Moretz all featured.
Why did she create this post? To promote her new fragrance, we might imagine. However, in a recent blog post, entitled 'How I Deal With Haters', Kim also explained: 'It was my way of saying they can talk sXXX about me if they want, but I’m going to keep doing me.'
She added, 'I used to be really sensitive — I’d have Google Alerts and look on websites and get so upset.'
However she says now, 'When people say negative things about me, I try to take the high road most of the time. I always ask the questions: will this affect me in a week? In a month? In a year? And usually the answer is no, but if it's something that really bothers me, I'll respond...'
She ended the post with some words of wisdom designed to help others on the receiving end of criticism: 'My advice for anyone dealing with haters is to just keep pushing through. If you let people bring you down, it’s harder to focus on your goals. Just do you and don't give in to the negativity.'
Sound advice indeed.
