The Kardashians are like marmite. Everybody seems to have an opinion on them, usually extreme: either people love them, or hate them. But Saturday night proved it really isKim Kardashian's world - and we're just living in it.
The multi-hyphenate reality star added comedian to her CV when she took on the duties of hosting one of the world's famous shows over the weekend: Saturday Night Live. And much to the shock - and delight - of audiences, Kim pulled no punches in her opening monologue, taking the piss not only out of herself, but her entire family - and, of course, her divorced husband Kanye West. (While dressed in a hot pink Balenciaga crushed velvet catsuit, what else would you expect from Kim?)
Here's some of the funniest quips from the speech which left the audience, and the internet, in stitches.
'I know, I'm surprised to see me here too. When they asked I was like "You want me to host? Why?" I haven't had a movie premiere in a really long time. I mean actually I only had that one movie come out and no one told me it was even premiering. It must have slipped my mom's mind.'
'I’m just so much more than that reference photo my sisters showed their plastic surgeons.'
'The one thing I’m really proud of is that no one could ever call me a gold digger. Honestly, I’m not even sure how you become one. So I asked my mom’s boyfriend Corey.'
'Honestly, with all of the K names it’s really impressive that my mom didn’t pick Karen. I mean, somehow she just knew. I don’t know how she saw that one coming and not Caitlyn.'
'I'm not running for president. We can't have three failed politicians in our family.'
'I married the best rapper of all time. Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America — a talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids. So, when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality.'
Watch the whole thing below, if you haven't seen it already: it really is worth four minutes of your time.
