Last Friday marked Kim Kardashian's 36th birthday but following her terrifying ordeal in Paris, the reality star has remained schtum over social media.
Husband Kanye West couldn’t resist celebrating her big day however, as he took to Twitter to share with the world the gift he gave to Kim. And it’s not what you’d expect.
Instead of a live orchestral performance (Kanye's Mother's Day gift) or an eye-wateringly expensive diamond ring, the rapper compiled a montage of nostalgic clips from Kim’s childhood. And we have to admit, it left a lump in our throats.
Played to the sound of Kanye’s, Only One, the five-and-a-half minute clip reflects on key milestones of Kim’s pre-fame life.
From receiving her first ‘real dog’ for Christmas to her catwalk debut alongside sister Kourtney in co-ordinating puffer jackets - the nostalgic footage is sure to have reminded Kim of happier times.
And much of the montage was filmed by her late father Robert Kardashian who can be heard giving his daughter touching words of encouragement, "Kimberly, follow your honest beliefs and stay strong."
Kanye wasn’t the only one to spread birthday cheer however, as mum Kris took to Instagram to share a similar montage with clips from Kim’s birthday back in 1982.
Her mum then went on to post a collage of childhood photographs depicting Kim and sister Kourtney alongside the words: ‘I thank God every day he blessed me with you and I cherish every single moment and memory. My heart is full of gratitude and I love you more than you will ever imagine or know...’
