It's official: Killing Eve is coming. The show has just unveiled its first trailer, announcing that it will premiere in the US on April 12 - weeks earlier than anticipated.

To make matters... better, we now have a confirmed UK date: the BBC says the show will drop from April 13. We can't wait. But, a warning: if you're scared of clowns, look away now...

The series, created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, has made Jodie a global star. But while season two ended with a cliffhanger as to the status of Sandra Oh's Eve Polastri, we know that the actress will be back for season three. Here's everything else you need to know.

Does Eve die?

Eve Polastri doesn’t die in Killing Eve - or at least that’s what we think so far.

Eve was left for dead at the end of series two, so we just weren’t sure that she’d be making an appearance in the third season.

But new pics of Sandra Oh filming in New Malden, London show that Eve does live to tell the tale, after being shot in the back by Villanelle.

In costume, the Golden Globe winning actress looked stressed as she smoked a cigarette.

‘Just found out Sandra Oh is filming in London right now and this is now what is getting me out of bed for the next few days,’ one excited fan wrote on Twitter.

Who else will be returning?

Fiona Shaw - or MI6 operative Carolyn Martens to you - was also spotted filming with Sandra, and is in the new pics, meaning the core three members of the cast - including Jodie - are returning.

Owen McDonnell will also be back as Eve's husband, Niko.

‘Filming is still ongoing', he said last year. 'I don’t know where they are this week, but yeah, we’re still filming. We’re filming up until January.'

Who is joining the cast?

Game Of Thrones actress Gemma Whelan, Succession's Dame Harriet Walter and The Crown's Danny Sapani will all be making their debuts in season three. But who will survive it?

Who is writing season three?

Phoebe Waller-Bridge wrote Season One, with Emerald Fennell writing Season Two. Suzanne Heathcote will do the honours for Season Three.

'I'm very excited that the Killing Eve baton is being passed onto another incredible writer for season three,' said Phoebe, who has stayed on as executive producer. 'We can sleep soundly knowing these characters are safe in Suzanne Heathcote's hilariously murderous hands.'

Take a look below at some of Villanelle's best looks from season two.

Romantic in Pink

'Villanelle is in a "love bubble" – she's in Amsterdam and is writing love letters to Eve. I found a Rosie Assoulin shirt and tied it in a way that it isn't usually worn to give it a '50s feel and took it slightly off the shoulder to give it a wide neck. I wanted to give that openness to her face, so she's not scared to show her collarbone and she's open to things. Her pink Kafka ballgown skirt is from William Vintage – it's out of context for daytime, but it's totally what Villanelle would do. She picks clothes to provoke a reaction. The Christian Lacroix vintage earrings are also in contrast to a day scene. Pink plays quite heavily in that moment – she stands out in her love bubble. It's very romantic'.

Boho Chic

Villanelle's in dress- up mode. She plays characters when she wants to kill,' says Charlotte. 'When Villanelle wears a wig, you know she's not playing herself. In light of this, we wanted a look which was more boho than Villanelle would be. I found this incredible raspberry pink fur coat from Armani. It's a bit too rock'n'roll for Villanelle, but right for the character she is playing. She wouldn't usually wear a bright pink oversized fur coat.'

Suited Up

'Another dress-up moment – this is Villanelle going off to do her job as an undercover assassin. The suit is from Marks & Spencer because she is playing a character again. Whenever she assumes a different character, it's always her take on what things are. They will always have a dark sense of humour behind them.'

Child's Play

'Series Two starts 30 seconds after the end of series one, so Villanelle's been stabbed and she's bloody. We needed to find her a way of changing clothes and what she finds are these child's pyjamas. It's quite fun that the only thing she can find are these very tight PJs, which are too short for her. They've got comic strips all over them – so the motif is ludicrous. It was great fun that outfit. It's really strong because of the colour we chose.'
