Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner are in 2017 what Mossy and Campbell were in the ‘90s: the coolest supermodel duo going. But we were as surprised as any when Kendall revealed that her friendship with Bella actually pre-dates her friendship with Gigi.
‘Gigi and I just started getting close when we started modelling, but Bella and I were actually really good friends since high school,’ Kendall said. ‘And hung out every day in school before either of us started working.’
And while you’d be forgiven for assuming the pair met in a modelling casting call room, the pair’s friendship blossomed over the internet.
‘I met her for the first time seven years ago over Twitter,’ Bella told US InStyle. ‘That was before we started modeling; I was probably 14 or 15.’
It actually makes complete sense. Between them, the duo has amassed a combined 118 million followers (!). And more and more teenagers are using Twitter and Instagram to stay connected with their mates (much like the oh-so noughties days of MSN messenger, Bebo and Myspace).
‘We met up and had sushi, and now we’re best friends,’ Bella adds. ‘She’s a pretty significant human I met online.’
