Is one of our favourite celebrity couples of the last twelve months having trouble? Last year, it felt like every day brought new images of Katie Holmes having an absolute whale of a time with her new boyfriend, Emilio Vitolo Jr. The Dawson's Creek star found love with the chef and aspiring actor after a split from Jamie Foxx, and spent many al fresco dates with him, being photographed enjoying meals, kissing and walking hand in hand. In recent weeks, those photo opportunities seem to have disappeared. This in itself is not hugely surprising - New York can have cold springs: not great for outdoor dates - but a new report has claimed that Katie and Emilio have been having some trouble with their romance.
According to an In Touch report last month, the relationship is 'on the rocks... [as] Katie is focusing on upcoming projects and she doesn’t have time to see Emilio around the clock.'
The source states that there has been unwanted pressure on the couple. Indeed, a trawl through the archives establishes that it has been well over a month since they were seen together.
'Emilio is head over heels in love with Katie, but she’s told him to slow down,' the source added. 'She feels that their relationship is moving too fast. He really wants to make things work so is giving her some space.' Emilio will, the report claims, be 'focusing on the reopening of his restaurant.' No comment has emerged from representatives of either Katie or Emilio, so at this stage it could be mere rumour.
Now there's new reports saying that Katie could have dumped the chef - and there's even an online rumour that he's been spotted on Raya.
Katie and Emilio's relationship started late last summer, with Katie appearing happier than ever. But the blossoming romance was marred by scandal. Reports state that Emilio had a fiancée, Rachel Emmons, who he had been living with before breaking up via text mere days before photos of him kissing Katie emerged. Katie, whose other roles include The Secret and Batman Begins, has a fifteen-year-old daughter, Suri, with her ex husband Tom Cruise.
Who is Emilio Vitolo Jr?
Emilio is a chef who works for his father Emilio Vitolo Sr. at Emilio's Ballato restaurant in SoHo, which has a host of high-profile fans such as Whoopi Goldberg, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Bradley Cooper. He is friends with the Jonas Brothers and has been regularly photographed with them at parties. He is also an actor, with credits on Inside Amy Schumer and Royal Pains.
