Prince William and Kate Middleton spent the last day of their week-long tour of India and Buhtan tour paying homage to the late Princess Diana – by recreating the iconic photo outside the Taj Mahal.
The Princess of Wales was photographed alone on the bench in front of the ‘monument of love’ 24 years ago, which was supposedly a symbol of her collapsed marriage to Prince Charles.
William said the purpose of the visit was ‘to create new memories.’
K Middy traded in her high street frocks (note: Topshop and Glamourous) and instead rocked a blue and white embroidery dress which was from designer Naeem Khan’s collection back in November. Which begs the question: did the princess plan her Taj Mahal outfit five months in advance? Probably. She paired the dress with nude heels and dangly earings which she is said to have bought from a stallfor 500 rupees (a fiver).

The picture also coincides with the debut of the American-Indian designer’s SS17 collection which was launched on the same day.
Naeem Khan commented on the symbolism of the royal couple's picture, whilst backstage of his runway show, 'It is so important because that's where Princess Di sat, right? And her son is there – sitting on that same chair with his bride. That is a historical moment.'
