The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, are heading out on another royal tour after last year’s successful trip to Canada, Kensington Palace has confirmed. This time, the young royals will be staying a little closer to home, visiting Germany and Poland, and they'll be joined by their two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The Duke and Duchess will arrive in Warsaw, Poland, on July 17th, then will move on to the city of Gdansk before heading to Germany. The family of four will visit Berlin, Heidelberg and Hamburg before returning on July 21st.
The Communications Secretary for the Duke and Duchess, Jason Knauf, said 'The Duke and Duchess are very much looking forward to this tour and are delighted with the exciting and varied programme that has been put together for it. They have decided that their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, will travel with them and we expect the children to be seen on at least a couple of occasions over the course of the week.'
'They look forward to a busy and impactful tour and are grateful that they will have the opportunity to meet the Polish and German people - such important friends of the United Kingdom - as a family,' he added.
Following their two day visit to Paris earlier this year, this trip comes at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Many see the couple as unofficial 'Brexit' ambassadors, helping to smooth over relations with other European nations as Britain navigates its departure from the European Union.
