Kate Middleton has put to rest the rumours about the apparent tension between her and Meghan Markle, talking about her sister-in-law's pregnancy to fans yesterday. TheDuchess of Cambridge has told wellwishers that she is 'absolutely' excited about the incoming royal baby, and can't wait for her children to have a cousin.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Leicester yesterday to pay tribute to the victims of the helicopter crash last month, where five people died shortly after take-off at the King Power Stadium, Leicester City Football Club's grounds.
While there, Kate greeted the waiting crowds and opened up about her children, and the expectant children of Harry and Meghan. When one fan asked if she was excited for Meghan and her new baby, she said: 'Yeah, absolutely. It's such a special time to have little kiddies and a cousin for George and Charlotte and Louis! It's really special.'
She also spoke about her own children, saying that they're now getting 'so excited for Christmas time' and have already put their Christmas tree up. 'They've started all their Christmas songs and Christmas trees are going up and all that,' she said. 'And Louis is getting bigger. It's been seven months now — I can't believe it.'
Her comments have finally put an end to the vicious rumours about her and Meghan's relationship. Speculation that the pair haven't been getting along rose when it was announced that Harry and Meghan would be moving to Frogmore Cottage at Windsor Castle, which is outside of London. The couple are currently living next door to William and Kate at Kensington Palace, and so the fact that they would no longer be next door neighbours was all that was needed for people to jump on the idea that the sister-in-laws don't like each other.

However, the notion that they aren't friendly seems completely baseless, and there has been no speculation that Harry and William aren't getting on (classic). In reality, their decision to move house is much more likely to be related to the division of their roles in the royal family (the couples will be doing more events separately as they forge their own family paths) and the fact they want to create a home for their child, than it is to do with any family drama.
Alas, pitting two women against each other seems to be the go-to in this fun patriarchal world we live in (longest eye roll of all time). However, with Kate expelling the rumours left right and centre, hopefully the issue will be dropped - although we doubt it - and we can go back to loving her and Meghan's twinning moments. Matching Christmas pajamas, anyone?
