We’ve all been there. You’ve been invited to a fancy restaurant or party - but you’re absolutely dreading the overrated food and inevitably tiny portions. Well, next time, perhaps take inspiration from Julia Butters... The 10-year-old, who starred in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, just turned up to the Oscars with a sandwich in her pink clutch bag, because she told reporters she wasn’t a fan of what the Academy were serving inside.
Los Angeles Times journalist Amy Kaufman posted photos of the moment Julia revealed her snacks on Twitter. (The journalist tweeted, ‘Julia Butters brought a turkey sandwich in her purse because "I don't like some of the food here.” #Oscars.’) The actress is far from the first celeb to sneak in food to an awards ceremony - maybe Julia took inspiration from Jameela Jamil bringing a string cheese to the Emmys last year?
After the Golden Globes and the Critics Choice Awards both served an all-vegan menu, the Academy confirmed that all food served in the lobby prior to the ceremony would be entirely plant-based. While there's no food served during the show itself, the menu at the post-ceremony Governors Ball will be 70 per cent vegan, with the rest made up of vegetarian, fish and meat dishes. (To be honest, as there’s no food served during the ceremony, no wonder people get hungry - you go Julia.)
Julia, who played young actress Trudi Fraser in the Quentin Tarantino film, was wearing a Christian Siriano dress and a Lark & Berry necklace. Take a look at some of the best looks at the Dolby Theatre below...
