While we're all bored in lockdown, you’ve probably already binged the entirety of Netflix’s wild Tiger King, the show about eccentric zookeeper Joe Exotic, and his rivalry with animal rights activist Carole Baskin. If you’re still thinking about the show, then there’s some good news - as an adaptation is in the works.
And if Joe - who is currently behind bars for 22 years for animal abuse and a murder-to-hire plot - has anything to do with any further projects, then he wants a very big name involved. The only name attached to an adaptation of the series so far is Kate McKinnon, who is set to play Big Cat Rescue's Carole. Carole has already had her say on the casting - urging Kate, who is also executive producer on the project, to ditch the use of real big cats and instead employ CGI. ‘Kate McKinnon is a wonderful actress. Big Cat Rescue implores Kate McKinnon to not use real big cats and cubs in the making of her series,’ Carole said in a statement.
