‘No one ever asks me out. I am lonely every Saturday night,’ Jennifer Lawrence revealed candidly about her dating plight last year.
But according to recent US reports the 26-year-old actress (and dream BFF) has found love again – with acclaimed film director Darren Aronofsky, 47. JLaw - who was last romantically linked to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in early 2015 – is said to have hit it off with Aronofsky after working on an untitled project this summer. While neither of them of yet to publicly comment on their relationship status, recent pictures have surfaced of the pair holding hands and kissing in New York. Aw!
While the inevitable ‘HE’S 21 YEARS OLDER THAN HER’ stories come rolling in, The Hunger Games star will no doubt see their age-gap as insignificant, considering she has no real ‘type’ when it comes to matters of the heart. ‘If I think about all of my ex-boyfriends, they are all so incomparable,’ she told Harper's Baazar. Here is everything you need to know about the actress’ new ‘beau’…
David dated Rachel Weisz for nine years
Aronofsky clearly has a thing for intelligent, incredibly beautiful actresses. He met the British star in 2001 and they got engaged four years later. Although it wasn’t meant to be – calling it quits in 2010 – the pair remain ‘good friends’ and co-parents to their 10-year-old son, Henry. The Brooklyn-born filmmaker then ended his three year engagement with Canadian film and TV producer Brandi Milbradt last year.
He’s part of Harvard university's alumni
Before cracking the big-screen he graduated from Harvard in 1991, with a degree in social anthropology.
JLaw’s a BIG fan of the film director
In fact, in 2015 she revealed her hopes of working with Aronofsky in the future. ‘I had the same reaction to him [Darren] that I did with David [O. Russell] when I first discovered David’s films,’ Jennifer told EW. ‘I watched I Heart Huckabees 11 times. I’m not joking. I watched all of his films repeatedly and then I did the same thing with Darren. These are two directors in my life who I have spent an obsessive weekend with. I started with The Wrestler and I went nuts from there…’
He’s been nominated for an Oscar
While you may not remember his face, you'll probably have seen at least one of his dark and trippy films - including Requiem For A Dream (which saw Jared Leto banish his teen idol image) to Black Swan in 2010, which earned him his first Academy Award nom. He’s now teamed up with Natalie Portman again - acting as executive producer on the buzzed biopic everyone’s talking about this festival season: Jackie.
Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky have a mutual pal
Aronofsky is a long-time friend of David O.Russell – whose directed Lawrence in her biggest Hollywood hits: Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle and Joy. Hmm, we’re guessing the duo have crossed paths over the years.
