From NearlyWeds to newlyweds, Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo have tied the knot.

The pair had dropping hints for weeks that their nuptials might be sooner than expected. And after Sophie revealed she was doing some last minute ‘bridal prep,’ Jamie confirmed that they were ready to say ‘I do’ with a sweet Instagram post reading ‘We’re getting married today!’

With pics already dropping of the newlyweds outside the registry office, we're looking back at Mr and Mrs Laing's relationship - from their MIC days to 'groomzilla' antics...

September 2017: Sophie joins the cast

Remember Frankie Gaff, who dated Jamie for a year back in 2016? Well, Sophie originally joined the MIC universe as one of Frankie’s pals. Fans were never really shown Frankie’s reaction to her BFF and ex-boyf hooking up, but considering she’s happily loved-up with someone else now, we don’t think there’s any hard feelings.

Before striking up a romance with Jamie, Sophie also enjoyed a brief fling with Alex Mytton, as well as dated Sam Thompson for six months.

Spring 2019: Sophie and Jamie start dating

A month before Sophie’s split from Sam, Jamie revealed he had broken up with his girlfriend Heloise. Both now single, the pair started hanging out quite a lot – with fans insistant there were some sparks there.

And in one episode of MIC, it was revealed that Sophie and Jamie did have feelings for each other and were hoping to see where it went. Taking the news not so well, Sophie Hermann (who was best pals with Jamie’s ex Heloise) shut down Sophie’s explanation by saying ‘I’m sorry, I don’t speak snake.’

A certain Sam Thompson was also left pretty upset at the newest MIC couple, returning to the show to share how he felt ‘betrayed’ by Jamie.

September 2019: Cheating scandal

They might be all loved-up now, but it wasn’t always smooth sailing. Four months into being exclusive, Jamie ended a fling with Rosie Mai Waldon. With Sophie dubbing her future fiancé a ‘mean person,’ it took two weeks for the couple to rekindle.

October 2020: Homeowners

A year into their whirlwind romance (and with little drama flying their way), Jamie and Sophie moved in together.

December 2021: Sophie and Jamie get engaged

Proving all the critics wrong and showing their romance was anything but a rebound, the pair announced their engagement after two and a half years of dating. Sharing the news on Instagram, they wrote 'WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!’ – with Jamie proposing to Sophie with a series of heartwarming letters.

Last month, Jamie re-read the letters on their podcast.

He said, ‘Without you, I wouldn’t be complete. It’s truly funny in life. As kids we joke about soulmates, but I can honestly put my hand on my heart and say you are mine. You are my everything and I promise to love you for the rest of my life.’

And that’s not even his wedding vows. Pass the tissues, we’re crying already…

March 2022: NearlyWeds is launched

What do you do when you’re busy planning a wedding? Start a podcast, of course

Jamie and Habbs launched their podcast in March 2022, just one year after getting engaged. With hundreds of episodes now under their wing, the podcast has covered the ups and downs of their wedding planning – covering everything from dodgy stag do’s to wedding nightmares.

2022: Wedding planning drama

Last year, Habbs branded her hubs-to-be Jamie a ‘groomzilla’ after it was revealed that he wants to walk up the aisle on their big day.

The pair also appeared on This Morning, saying ‘Wedding planning is the worst thing ever. When you get engaged, people say it’s so exciting but we’re filled with anxiety.’

Sophie joked, ‘Jamie wants me to wait for him [at the end of the aisle] so he can walk down with everyone watching. He’s a groomzilla,’ with Jamie agreeing: ‘The whole thing is a complete and utter nightmare.’

April 2023: Sophie and Jamie finally say 'I do'.

During a Good Morning Britain interview last August, Sophie hilariously slipped up and revealed that the couple would be tying the knot on 'May 19 next year (2023).'

Backtracking at the NTAs months later, Sophie told Grazia 'Well actually, it’s the 20th because we’re getting married on the Saturday.'

But despite having all the chatter on their May Marbella wedding, it turns out Habbs and Jamie had us all fooled. The couple have confirmed earlier this week that they were tying the knot this weekend, with a separate ceremony thought to be taking place in Seville, Spain next month.

Sweet pics snapped at the registry office show Sophie looking gorgeous in a short white dress, with some heart-shaped glasses for good measure. We love it.

Reality TV wedding?

In case you were hoping to see Habbs walk down the aisle on a TV screen near you, we’ll have to let you down.

Speaking to MailOnline, Jamie explained that the couple have decided against turning their wedding into a reality spinoff show, saying 'We got asked to do a TV show but it’s tricky. I have done reality for so long and it’s tough on the soul. I don’t think TV is ever on your own terms so unless you have control over those things then it’s quite difficult. Once you get marriage, what happens then? Do we do another reality show about being married… when does it end? For the moment, I am parking reality.'
