James Corden and Prince Harry's kids are friends, we learn today, as the presenter has revealed that his children have playdates with Harry and Meghan Markle's children. James and Harry have been close friends for a number of years, and you'll remember that one of the first interviews after he left the royal family happened with James on The Late, Late Show, when Harry was casually interviewed at the top of a bus.

Since March 2020, Harry and Meghan have been living in Montecito, California - and James and his wife, Julia Carey, live about an hour and a half away. James and Julia have three children Max, 11, Carey, seven, and Charlotte, four; meanwhile Harry and Meghan have Archie, three, and Lilibet, 11 months. So it makes sense that the families have met up.

In a new interview with The Sun, James revealed that he has visited Harry and Meghan's home: 'I have. It was more a sort of play date scenario [with the kids]. Then we went out for dinner after, it was lovely.'

James doesn't often speak about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but he told the paper that he admired Harry and Meghan for taking a step back from the royal family. 'I have a huge amount of respect and admiration for Harry, and anyone who has been around him and spent time with him would feel exactly the same way,' James said.

'I think he is a devoted and loving husband and father and I think what they have done [in turning away from royal life] is incredibly brave and I’ll always be in their corner,' he continued. 'I have nothing but admiration and respect for them. I think it’s impossible to judge any of it really.'
