Whether it’s championing body positivity via her [‘I Weigh’ campaign](https://graziadaily.co.uk/celebrity/news/jameela-jamil-i-weigh-campaign/ampaign/) or calling out celebrities for promoting dangerous detox products, Jameela Jamil regularly uses social media as a force for good.
Her latest tweet is no different. After Jamil was approached by a man while out shopping with friends, she took to Twitter to share the experience.
Jamil’s tale of harassment, specifically after politely rejecting the man in question, is depressingly something most women have dealt with at some point.
There have been hundreds of women who have shared their own similar stories in response to Jamil’s tweet.
‘I once had a guy come up to me on the street and say, “I hope your husband or boyfriend doesn’t mind me talking to you.” I wanted to be like, “What if I MIND YOU TALKING TO ME?!”’ one Twitter user wrote.
‘I always get the, "You aren't even pretty, you should be happy someone is hitting on you." When I let them down. And as always the, "If you are married, why isn't your husband here? He just lets you go out by yourself?"’ a different Twitter user commented.
‘I once had a man ask me out, when I politely declined, and told him I had a boyfriend, he had the nerve to ask if my boyfriend would mind if he shared. I was floored, but not enough to not say that I MINDED and told him to leave the store where I was working,’ another Twitter user added.
Jamil responded by highlighting the overriding issue of how we deal with rejection as a society.
