Holly Willoughby made her first red carpet appearance since October 2023 at the National Television Awards. She was there to present the coveted Bruce Forsyth entertainment award, with nominees including Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, The Masked Singer, The Graham Norton Show, and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.
When she stepped onto the stage, the presenter was met with rapturous applause and said, ‘It’s so lovely to see you all,’ before revealing the winner as I’m A Celebrity.
Holly has kept a low profile in 2024, aside from hosting Dancing on Ice in January, due to a kidnapping plot that led to her quitting her role as presenter on This Morning after 14 years. The show is now presented by Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley on Mondays to Thursdays, and Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond on Fridays.
In October last year, the police uncovered that a man called Gavin Plumb was plotting to kill the former This Morning presenter. Holly then released a statement which read, 'I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.' And added: 'It's been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family.'
Plumb appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court in July after he was convicted by a jury for planning to abduct, sexually assault, and kill her and will serve a minimum 16 year sentence.
After a long break, fans were delighted to see the presenter back in good spirits on the red carpet at the NTAs. Holly, who wore a KolchagovBarba Couture sparkly strapless gown, was reunited with the This Morning team and hugged her former co-stars, Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, and posed for photographs with fans.
Inside the O2, where the event was hosted, Holly was also seen catching up with fellow presenters Davina McCall, Rochelle Humes and Ashley James.
Her next role will be presenting a brand new Netflix show, Bear Hunt, alongside Bear Grylls. The show is due to air in 2025.
