Harry andMeghan{ =nofollow}might appear like they’re trying to save the planet - but it's being reported that they took Archie on his first holiday by private jet.

The family celebrated Meghan’s birthday in a private villa in Ibiza, and are thought to have stayed there for six days, arriving on August 6.

The choice of aircraft comes as a surprise, as just days ago Prince Harry gave a speech about climate change to a group of celebrities - believed to include Harry Styles and Naomi Campbell - at Camp Google in Sicily.

And last month, Harry told conservation expert Dr Jane Goodall that he and Meghan planned to limit the size of their family because of the environment.

As Metro reports, their decision to use a private jet would have emitted six times more carbon dioxide than a scheduled flight.

A source told Majorca Daily Bulletin, 'No images have emerged of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Archie, who stayed at a villa away from the cameras. They travelled with security personnel and it is reported that local security forces were not needed.'

It comes following reports that Meghan didn’t have a birthday party to avoid controversy, following her star-studded babyshower.

People were furious after Meghan’s baby shower (which was thrown by Serena Williams{ =nofollow}) in February - because a. It was in New York, and b. cost a reported £300,000.

‘Frogmore Cottage will host a celebration for Meghan’s birthday,’ a source told The Sun at the time.

‘The Clooneys clan will be in Villa Oleandra on Lake Como and the Sussexes will not want to be seen enjoying more of their lavish hospitality after the PR disaster backlash post the US baby shower.'
