Actress and wellness guru Gwyneth Paltrow has been accused of speeding her skis into another skier on a snowy mountainside, injuring him, and then sloping off without another word.

Legal papers filed by retired doctor Terry Sanderson, from Salt Lake City, claim he was skiing down a gentle slope when he was bashed into by another skier, ‘knocking him out and causing a brain injury, four broken ribs and other serious injuries.’

Dr Sanderson’s lawyer, Robert Sykes, told a press conference, in which the $3.1 million lawsuit for damages was announced, that this skier was none other than Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow, who: ‘was skiing too fast. She was out of control and hit him from behind’

She then, it is alleged, ‘got up, turned and skied away, leaving Sanderson stunned, lying in the snow, seriously injured.’ If true, this is a violation of rules of the Deer Valley ski resort in Utah, which is also being sued int he litigation.

A witness, Craig Ramon, says in the suit that a ski instructor with Gwyneth’s group then had a go at Dr Sanderson for knocking into Gwyneth. The lawsuit, reports The Times, also claims a ski instructor who hadn’t been witness to the collision filed an accident report which lied in claims that Gwyneth had no hand in causing the crash.

Gwyneth’s spokeswoman said the suit was without merit and that her client expects to be ‘vindicated’.

In other Gwyneth Paltrow news, the star, much-famed amongst Generation X and Y for her roles in Shakespeare In Love and Se7en and Iron Man and The Royal Tenenbaums and Glee, is an entirely unknown entity to some Gen Z-ers.

In a message screengrabbed by Love Island alumni Megan Barton-Hanson and posted to her Instagram followers, concerned friend Samira Mighty asked Megan if she had really, when announcing her split from Dancing On Ice favourite Wes Nelson, riffed off of the statement ‘Gwenith Poutrouys or however you spell it’ gave about her own ‘conscious uncoupling’ from Chris Martin.

Maybe if Gwyneth wants to get away from all the drama that comes with being recognised in public, she could change tack in her hobbies, switching from ripping up some fresh powder on the ski slopes to hanging out with Gen Z-ers in Mayfair clubs and product launches, where, it seems, no-one will fully know who she is.
