Grimes Is Keeping Her Child’s Identity Secret As They ‘Can’t Consent To Being Famous’

With an avant-garde photoshoot last month, Grimes. And now she has shed more light on how she plans to parent her baby, telling her fans that she will be keeping her child’s identity private - as they ‘can’t consent to being famous or being in public’.

‘I don’t want to say the gender of the baby… because I feel like their privacy should be protected,’ the singer reportedly said in a YouTube stream last Friday. ‘I don’t think they can consent to being famous or being in public.’

Grimes, who released her latest album Miss Anthropocene last month, also said that she doesn’t want to ‘gender them’ in case it is not how the child identifies. The musician added, ‘And I don’t want to gender them in case that’s not how they feel in their life. I don’t know, I just feel like it doesn’t need to be known.’ After another fan asked whether she was having a boy or girl on Twitter, Grimes responded, ‘They may decide their fate and identity.’

The singer also won’t tell everyone what she plans to name her child, but she promises that it’s ‘genius’. ‘I have a name for the baby, but I don’t want to say what it is because everyone I’ve told it hates it, and everyone’s gonna make fun of it,’ she said. ‘But it is, in fact, a genius name and people just don’t appreciate it yet because it’s too avant-garde.’

The 31-year-old , who has been dating billionaire Musk since 2018, revealed her baby bump in a photo from her shoot with Eli Russell Linnetz last month, who is known to have previously worked with the Kardashians{ =nofollow}.
