Glastonbury tweeted and the music industry went nuts. The highly-anticipated 2016 line-up has finally been announced, and what a line-up it is...

As she revealed in concert at London's O2 earlier this month, Adele is one of the top names on the star-studded list. 'Who's going to Glastonbury this year?' the singer asked an audience of hundreds. 'See you there. I'll be there. I'll be headlining on the Saturday night this year.'

She later added: 'I've had to keep that secret for years!'

Other headline acts include Brit rock band Muse as well as Coldplay, both of which were announced earlier this spring.

Hitherto unknown, however, was that starlet Ellie Goulding is also set to play at the 4-day festival in Worthy Farm, Somerset this June – as are ZZ Top, Earth, Wind & Fire and The 1975.

Showing solidarity with Syria, the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra have similarly been invited to play – their 90 members are spread all over the world as civil unrest continues to plague their home country.

In other news, Dua Lipa and Ezra Furman will make their 'Glasto' debut, and Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra will take up the Sunday afternoon 'Legends' slot.

In all, it is set to be an earth trembling, magical and musical affair. Have you got your ticket?
