Last year's much-anticipated Netflix revival of Gilmore Girls, a four episode standalone series titled A Year In The Life, ended on a major cliffhanger.
The final four words (which showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino has had planned for years) spoken by the now 32-year-old Rory Gilmore certainly left the proverbial door wide open for future episodes - and if you're one of the many fans feeling more than a little frustrated by this open-ended conclusion, you'll be excited to learn that Netflix are in talks with the show's creators to produce further episodes.
Speaking at an event in Germany, Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos told the Press Association that the streaming site is having 'preliminary' discussions with Sherman-Palladino and her co-producer, husband Dan Palladino, about working on future Gilmore Girls installments.
'We obviously loved the success of the show, fans loved how well it was done, it delivered what they hoped,' he said. 'The worst thing is to wait a couple of years for your favourite show to come back and for it to disappoint you, but they sure delivered and people were really excited about more, and we have been talking to them about the possibility of that.'
All being well, then, we could be returning to Stars Hollow once again (which is surely only fair, given how many questions we have after that closing bombshelll...).
Until then, there's always coffee and the entire seven-and-a-bit seasons of GG to revisit on Netflix.
