Gigi Hadid Confirms She Is Expecting Her First Child With Zayn Malik

Congratulations are in order for Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik{ =nofollow}, who are expecting their first child together. Gigi's mum Yolanda confirmed the good news yesterday, saying that while she was 'shocked our little secret got leaked to press,' she is very 'excited' - and now, Gigi has spoken for the first time.

After two days, the model established the reports while appearing on The Tonight Show. 'Thank you so much,' Gigi said after host Jimmy Fallon congratulated her on the pregnancy. 'Obviously we wish we could have announced it on our own terms, but we're very excited and happy and grateful for everyone's well wishes and support.'

And obviously, the baby is going to have lots of celebrity connections - including Dua Lipa, who is going out with Gigi's brother Anwar. And Dua is delighted that she's going to be an auntie. On New Zealand’s The Edge, Dua was asked: ‘Technically, you’re going to be an auntie?’, and the singer replied: ‘Yeah. It’s very exciting news. We’re very, very excited.’

On Tuesday, TMZ reported that Gigi is five months pregnant with on-off boyfriend Zayn. The pair started dating in 2015 - however, they split three years later and reconciled late last year.

Gigi celebrated her 25th birthday over the weekend with Zayn and her family, who have all been isolating together at the Hadid's Pennsylvania farm.

But eagle-eyed fans suspect that the celebrations were actually a gender reveal party, too. The ‘25’ balloons had blue and pink string, and fans even spotted a pink gift bag which said: 'Hello little one' (and to add to the speculation, sister Bella covered up the writing on the front with a sunflower graphic). One fan wrote on Twitter, 'The blue and pink strings - it was a gender reveal party as well?'

In February, the model hinted that she was thinking of having children. 'I think that as I get older, well one day I’ll start a family and I don’t know if I will always be modeling,' she said during an interview with i-D magazine{ =nofollow}. 'I love the creative side of fashion, it’s so fulfilling. The people I work with make me so happy, I’m so lucky to be around them. But who knows? Maybe I’ll take up full time cooking!'
