Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner share more in common than just being best friends. Their modeling careers are simultaneously huge, their social reach is astronomical, and judging by their clothing choices, we imagine they’ve raided each other’s wardrobe a few times too. Oh, and they are actually related, not just symbolic BFF ‘sisters’.
Ok, the link may be a bit tenuous, and they don’t actually share any blood connections, and it's gotten a bit more tenuous since Yolanda Hadid and David Foster split, but here’s how Kendall Jenner might be closer to Gigi's future baby than you might think.
Gigi Hadid was born to Yolanda and Mohamed Hadid. However, in 2011, Yolanda married David Foster who had previously been married to Linda Thompson from 1991 until 2005. Got that?
And Linda Thompson is Caitlyn Jenner’s ex-wife. After divorcing in 1986, Caitlyn then married Kris Jenner in 1991 and had Kendall Jenner together. So, Gigi and Kendall are ex-step siblings. Or at least they were, because Yolanda and David divorced in 2017. (Does that make them ex-ex step siblings?)
'Since we're best friends, we just want to be related,' Gigi told Vanity Fair in 2015. 'Like you know when you, like - in high school or middle school - you want your best friend to marry your sibling so you have the last name? Well, that just happened with me and Kendall.' However, it sounded like Gigi wasn't 100% sure on the link, as the interviewer asked if this means Hadid and Jenner 'are ex-stepsisters?' She replied, 'We don't know. We're best friends.'
Well, no matter how they're related, we're sure Kendall will have a big part in Gigi's baby's life.
