Everyone knows the members of the Insta-squad by heart (even if you don’t like to admit it). The names Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner and Karlie Kloss roll off the tongue instantaneously. And of course, the first model we make sure to namecheck is Gigi Hadid.

But in an interview with US Harper’s Bazaar, the 22-year-old revealed that her social media profile is not all what it seems. Gigi opened up about the detrimental affect her high-profile career has had on her friendships.

She told the magazine that when you become famous, “a lot of interesting things in friends come out.”

The model continued: “I've lost a lot of friends because I'll get busy for a short period of time, and they're not reaching out, but if I don't reach out, then it's like I've changed."

But if anything, it has taught the model to favour quality over quantity as she explained: “In a way it's good because you learn that it's better to have a few really good friends than tons of friends you aren't really sure about. There are people who understand that I love them and who know that when I get back to town I'm going to call them, but sometimes I can't call every day because I'm in weird places.”

But Gigi needn’t worry, as she knows younger sister Bella will always have her back.
