The GC probably doesn’t need a CV, but if she does happen to have one, it would put all of ours to shame. Reportedly worth £2.3millon, and an unapologetic and self-proclaimed diva, Gemma Collins is living her very best life as a Towie cast member; author (who famously admitted she hadn’t even read her own book); Dancing on Ice legend; business woman; owner of her own boutique in Brentwood, suitably named Gemma Collins Boutique; thrifty Depop seller and The Queen of Memes. Gemma - even though she is 38 - is a truemillennial, with a hyphenate career that is longer than all of our arms put together.

But Britain’s (unofficial) national treasure will soon have another thing to add to her resume, because, according to The Sun, Gem is going to become a popstar. Her first single? A ‘heartbreak ballad called Come Home’ which will dish all the details about her split from on/off boyfriend James (just call him Arg) Argent. This dream is being made a reality by none other than super producer Naughty Boy - you know, the one who has worked with Beyonce - who believes ‘she was born to sing’ after they met at the Brit Awards. He told the newspaper: “I saw her and we had this instant synergy. That room at the Brits is full of superstars, but for me, Gemma was shining brighter." The hitmaker revealed: “She sung me a part of Running, the Beyonce song, and when she sung me that, I was thinking, ‘This girl can actually sing, she’s got a personality and she’s got a following.’ This is the new age superstar. When people hear the music and hear her voice, I think it’s going to take her up a notch.”

While some doubters might be thinking wtf about Gemma’s move into the music industry, it actually doesn’t come as that much of a shock. The GC trained at drama school, meaning she's well-versed in singing and dancing. And she’s always had her heart set on a few musical colloborations, as she told The Sunin 2017 that she’d love to work with Rita Ora. “Do you know what? I would love to do a collab with Rita Ora,” Gem said. “I think she looks like a fun, fun girl. I have got a good voice.” Hopefully, now she’s got Naughty Boy involved, a duet with Beyonce could be more likely. No matter who she gets in the studio with, we can’t wait to see her on tour.
