These Co-stars Are Famous And So Is Their Drama
Kim Woodburn and Aggie MacKenzie
Not all hosting duos are best friends off-screen, and that's certainly the case with Kim Woodburn and Aggie MacKenzie. The pair hosted infamous cleaning show How Clean Is Your House? on Channel 4 between 2003 and 2009, but fell out in 2008 and things were never the same again. Aggie said the pair didn't speak during the last two series of the show and claims that Kim bullied her on set. Aggie said, 'Kim was such a big, damaging part of my life. I feel she almost destroyed me.' Awkward! In response to the accusation, Kim said: 'I have never said anything derogatory about Aggie and I am not going to start now. I am unclear where these false allegations have come from but I wish her all the luck in the world.'
Fern Britton and Phillip Schofield
Another TV duo from yesteryear, Fern Britton and Phillip Schofield are not on the best of terms either. They hosted This Morning together between 2002 and 2009 but supposedly had a major falling out behind the scenes. Apparently Fern left the show because she was tired of 'living in Phil's shadow' and earning less than him for the same role (fair enough). However, she later denied this was the reason and said 'something happened and I thought "that's it really" and I walked away.' Phil has described the whole ordeal as 'heartbreaking' and said their relationship was 'inexplicably sour' in his autobiography. However, Fern did wish Phil congratulations on his 40 years in TV milestone last year, so time may have healed old wounds. At least things are a lot less complicated with Phil's current TV wife Holly Willoughby...
Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid
It had to be one of the least enviable jobs in TV, but someone had to co-host with Piers Morgan. And Susanna Reid put a real shift in. The pair hosted Good Morning Britain together from 2015 until 2021 when Piers quit the show. Susanna previously said they were 'one of those couples who fight, and it's not just for the cameras. We often have rows in the editorial meeting that we continue on air.' Piers eventually left GMB because he felt 'censored' by ITV for his comments about Meghan Markle and being asked to apologise. Luckily for Piers, he's free to say whatever he wants over on TalkTV. Meanwhile, Susanna's career has gone from strength to strength and her hard-line questioning of politicians such as Boris Johnson and Matt Hancock have earned her a place in our broadcasting hall of fame. No hard feelings, Piers!
Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne
Friends, enemies or both? We can't keep up. But one thing's for sure and that's Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne's relationship has never been plain sailing. Two hot-headed characters and two big egos, it either works or it doesn't. The pair's feud supposedly started when Sharon was fired as a judge on The X Factor in 2017. Sharon, 70, claims she was sacked because of her age and so six years later, understandably, she still isn't Simon's biggest fan. She recently took a jab at his talent show Britain's Got Talent, saying variety shows 'can only go on so long before you've trawled everything'. However, Simon only speaks in dollar signs so it's unlikely he'll take much notice!
Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall
One Hollywood submission for good measure – it's hard to talk about co-star feuds without mentioning Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall. This one runs so deep that Kim opted out of starring in the Sex and the City spin-off And Just Like That. After all, she had done two questionable films against her will and 94 episodes of the original show already. The pair have both aired their dirty laundry on a number of occasions, and Kim in particular has been very vocal about never wanting to work with SJP again. It's worth mentioning that – as is often the way with co-star drama – SJP earned a much larger salary than her co-stars and Kim allegedly wanted a bigger cut. Tension only built from there. Kim has called the relationship 'toxic' and SJP has said her words were 'really hurtful'. Safe to say the former colleagues are no longer on speaking terms and won't be getting together for another reunion any time soon. Kim summarised it pretty succinctly in a Variety interview last year: 'My colleagues aren't my friends. It was professional.'
