Of Course, There’s No Feud Between Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer And Sandra Oh After Villanelle’s Emmy Win

'I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a show that has two female leads that are complex and in the same category.'

Jodie Comer{ =nofollow}has dispelled all rumours of a feud between her and Killing Eve co-star Sandra Oh, after they were both nominated for the same Emmy. The Liverpudlian actress collected the award for best actress in a drama at Sunday night’s ceremony, for her role as assassin Villanelle, beating Sandra, who plays spy Eve in the hit series.

However, there’s no bad blood between the pair and Jodie has said they are ‘so celebratory of each other’.

Speaking toVariety{ =nofollow}, the actor said, ‘I think people think it’s more awkward than it is. I’ve always said I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a show that has two female leads that are complex and in the same category. It’s pretty special that we’re both in there together. We’re so celebratory of each other, as is the whole crew. There’s no hard feelings.’

Sandra was awarded a Golden Globe for her role in Killing Eve last year - and used the opportunity to deliver an iconic speech about inclusivity and diversity.

But Jodie thinks she 'blabbered on a lot' in her Emmys speech because she didn’t expect to win. (In the address, Jodie revealed that she hadn’t even invited her parents because she didn’t believe she’d get the trophy.)

‘I actually don’t know what I was thinking,’ she added. ‘I was in a complete state of shock. During the day I was strangely calm because I didn’t think it would be me. But it also happened so fast. You’re standing in front of all of these people, and you want to say the right thing and don’t want to miss anybody. You want to soak it up, not rush it, and take it all in. I feel like I blabbered on a lot!’
