We expected a lot at this year's Oscars. Brad Pitt to win best supporting actor for his role in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Billie Eilish to wear an amazing oversized outfit, Laura Dern to give an amazing speech. However, the one thing we were not expecting from the Oscars was for Eminem to turn up and perform _Lose Yourself - y_es, you read that right - in 2020.
Of course, the rapper won the award for best original song for Lose Yourself in 8 Mile all the way back in 2003 - but he didn't actually turn up to receive the award... So it makes sense that's back to perform it almost 20 years later, right?
Viewers - as well as the audience - were split over the set, with people being equally amazed and, erm, confused. 'Who’s responsible for inviting Eminem? Show yourself! Claim responsibility for this mess,' one person asked on Twitter. Meanwhile, another said, 'Eminem just performed lose yourself at the Oscars.. in 2020... I am confusion but I am also living for it.'
And, as someone else pointed out, 'I remember Eminem didn't even go to the Oscars when he won. Oh, how times have changed.' Indeed. The rapper himself even joked, 'Look, if you had another shot, another opportunity... Thanks for having me @TheAcademy. Sorry it took me 18 years to get here.'
Fashion wise, the night has been incredible, with the biggest names in Hollywood raiding the best wardrobes in the business. Oh, and Olivia Colman dyed her hair blonde. Take a look at the best looks from the Dolby Theatre below...
