It’s New Music Friday, and along with the likes of Dua Lipa, Louis Tomlinson and Demi Lovato, erm, Elon Musk has released some music. It’s like 2020 couldn’t get any weirder already. The billionaire has maybe taken some inspiration from his musician girlfriend, Grimes, and rebranded himself as E “D” M. (Clever. We see what he did there.)
The 48-year-old posted a SoundCloud link on his Twitter account this morning to promote his new song, informing followers he was responsible for both performing and writing the lyrics.
Those lyrics that he wrote? The entire track is ‘Don’t doubt your vibe, because it’s true. Don’t doubt your vibe, because it’s you.’
If you’re in any doubt that it’s his venture, the album artwork features the Tesla space truck. He also posted some pictures where he’s chilling in the studio to Twitter. One Twitter user joked, 'Guys please support this young aspiring artist,' while electronic duo Modestep tweeted, 'I don't even have time for a haircut yet you somehow find time to build rockets, solar panels, cars, tunnels, brain implants, satellite internet AND NOW MAKE EMOTIONAL BANGERS TOO. HOW?!'
The track is reportedly a follow-up to Musk’s first single RIP Harambe which payed homage to the Cincinnati Zoo gorilla and included lyrics such as ‘Harambe we love you’.
Earlier this month, Musk’s girlfriend announced that she was pregnant on social media. The 31-year-old musician, who has been dating billionaire Tesla founder Elon Musk since 2018, revealed her baby bump in a photo from her shoot with Eli Russell Linnetz, who is known to have previously worked with the Kardashians. Casual. Oh, and she edited in a fetus.
