Dani Dyer has revealed she cried in the audition room while going for the lead role in BBC series Our Girl.
The former Love Island star, 24, admitted she was gutted when she lost out on the role of Georgie Lane to Michelle Keegan, and relived the awkward audition process.
Speaking to The Mirror, Dani explained, ‘I cried in the room. I was like, “I don’t know what I’m doing."
‘I was running an hour late and sweating. The nerves get on top of you.’
Dani admitted she wanted the role 'so bad', but couldn't deliver on the day.
‘The speech we had to prepare was deep but she wanted it quite comical,' she explained. 'I tried and I just cried.’
Michelle is set to end her stint following the show's fourth season after taking the role of Georgie Lane in 2015 when EastEnder’s star Lacey Turner left the show.
Dani, who has starred in some indie films, was hopeful Our Girl would launch her to stardom.
Danny Dyer's daughter took a different route, however, when she appeared on Love Island and won the show with then-boyfriend Jack Fincham, which catapulted her into the public eye.
The reality TV star has since been spending time with her family during the UK coronavirus lockdown.
Despite splitting with her boyfriend Sammy Kimmence, Dani has been in good spirits and has been sharing hilarious dance routines on TikTok alongside her mother Joanne Mas.
We could be in for plenty more of Dani’s fun TikTok dance routines too, as Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove recently warned Britons to brace for a ‘significant’ period of lockdown as the country battles to curb the rise of COVID-19 infections and shield the NHS.
