In a discussion of the most influential and iconic high school movies of all time, it would be criminal to leave out Clueless. The film, released in 1995, followed the slightly narcissistic teen queen Cher as she made her way through the ups and downs of high school, with her life's complications inspired by Jane Austen's seminal work, Emma. Clueless is a truly charming film, full of fun and well-observed quirks on what it is to be a teenager. So we're thrilled that Alicia Silverstone - the actress thrust into the A-List by her performance as Cher - looks back on her days on set so fondly.

This week Alicia - who has since starred in Batman & Robin and Darren Starr's Miss Match - shared candid shots of the cast from their days on set. '90’s Polaroids of the cast of Clueless', she wrote on Instagram. 'I think it's funny that everyone was being normal for their continuity shots. They take these to match the costume, hair, and makeup. And I'm a big goof ball… so not Cher approved.'

As Alicia explains, images like these are commonplace in film. A Polaroid taken before a take helps ensure that your lipstick, hair and outfit look the same as the previous shot, to make sure that the editing of scenes doesn't lead to goofs. But revisiting them feels like opening a time capsule, with stars including Stacey Dash, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Sisto and the late Brittany Murphy among the adorable throwbacks.

So what are you waiting for? Take a dive into Cher's closet and revisit the beloved film.

Donald Faison played Murray, Dionne's devoted boyfriend. He and Stacey Dash were among the castmembers to return for the spin-off TV show. But it wasn't the same without Alicia.

'Everything I'd done up until that point had been a drama,' Alicia recalled to Vogue on the 25th anniversary of the film. 'Clueless was the first comedy I ever did. I found Cher on the page to be materialistic and unappealing. And really annoying, to be honest. Just everything I sort of loathed. But I realized that was just me judging her, and once I started working on her I found all the heart and all the love. She loves her daddy so much! And she's trying to be a supportive friend, so I just sorta put all of my love and heart into this character with these other aspects that were cringeworthy.'
