Attending the Producers Guild Awards on Saturday with her husband John Legend (who stars in La La Land alongside Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone), the 31-year-old model was asked whether she’d like her baby daughter, Luna, to have siblings. Chrissy’s answer? ‘Oh my God, a little boy is next for sure!’

Her comments sent the online rumour mill into overdrive, with some media outlets speculating as to whether the couple could already be expecting their second child. Two days later, Chrissy took to Twitter to clear up any confusion.

‘Since this is coming up again, I said our next baby would be a boy because that is the embryo we have left. A boy. So. Yeah,’ she wrote, referring to the IVF treatments she has undergone in the past. ‘And no, I am not pregnant,’ she added.

Chrissy had no time for one Twitter follower, who asked ‘Did you give it a minute to try naturally or are you avoiding the act?’, appearing to criticise the couple’s decision to conceive using IVF.

‘Hi Linda, thanks for asking, you complete witch,’ she hit back. ‘I tried for about 9 years. Anything else, let me know!’ Talk about a clap back…

In the past, Chrissy has been applauded for speaking openly about her fertility struggles and subsequent decision to try IVF. Speaking on Tyra Banks’ show FABLife back in 2015, she revealed, ‘I will say, honestly, John and I are having trouble. We would have kids five, six years ago if it’d happened. But my gosh, it’s been a process.’

The model emphasised the point that asking women the classic ‘have you thought about having children?’ question can prove unintentionally hurtful, adding that ‘anytime somebody asks me if I’m going to have kids, I’m like, “One day, you’re going to ask that to the wrong girl who’s really struggling, and it’s going to be really hurtful to them.” And I hate that.’

Chrissy and John welcomed their daughter Luna Simone in April 2016, and have since been busy proving themselves the sweetest family in show business with a stream of candid Instagram posts.
