If there’s one person who’s going to be sad the next series of Love Island has been postponed, then it’s probably going to be Chrissy Teigen crowned winners - on Twitter.

It's yet another blow to us Love Island fans, who at least were enjoying Chrissy's tweets to keep us going until the series that was expected this summer.

‘Fuckin' HATE this chick on Love Island. Won’t say what season but this makes me feel better,’ she said, before revealing, ‘Ok fine it’s the newest season UK.’ (We're still none the wiser who it is, then.)

She then added in another observation about the dialect on the show - which probably doesn't seem quite as normal to Americans like Chrissy - as she tweeted: ‘Love Island: doyouknowwhatthoughlike doyouknowwhatthoughlike doyouknowwhatthoughlike doyouknowwhatthoughlike doyouknowwhatthoughlike doyouknowwhatthoughlike.’

The TV personality then asked her UK followers an important question, based around some of the men in the villa. 'Love Island question: is a scaffolder someone in construction generally or someone in purely the construction of scaffolding? Also why are all your scaffolders young perfect Ken dolls.’ (All? Really?)

Later, she also made the observation that the series has changed a lot since it was first on TV. ‘_Love Island_has evolved so much since the early days,’ she said. ‘No more chain smoking or drunken cries. Or sex! They seem much more aware that they are, indeed, on TV.’

Of course, this isn't the first timeTeigen has tweeted about the show, at the end of last year she asked her followers to compare the UK accents on the show to American ones. ‘Can someone list a few cities/counties mentioned in Love Island UK and give me a US comparison,’ she asked the internet. ‘Like what city here would be the equivalent of Essex? Suffolk? Tottenham? Wherever else!’ (Pretty much everyone agreed that Essex is equivalent to New Jersey.)

In fact, her husband - John Legend - once took a flight just to watch the show with her.

'I do not normally brag about John, as it is my schtick to make fun of him always, ' she tweeted. 'But he flew from London to LA instead of London to DC to have dinner with me and watch Love Island UK because I haven’t been feeling like myself lately. Just a few hours but it meant a lot.'

Today, it was announced that the next series of the dating show is being postponed to 2021. Host Laura Whitmore said, 'Like with a lot of things because of restrictions with travel, social distancing and unable to plan ahead,Love Island is postponed until 2021. Great news is that there have been more applications then any other series! Next year is going to be BIG. Stay safe.'
