A reminder of the fever dream we were all living in during lockdown one, Tiger King has been renewed for another series. If you can handle the throwback to the times of banana bread, and running couch to 5k, the series will air later this month.

However, in an interesting twist, one of the key players in the first series, Carole Baskin{ =nofollow}, is suing Netflix - and it could cause big problems for the streaming giant.

In case you need a jog of your memory, the first series follows the rivalry between Carole and zoo keeper Joe Exotic{ =nofollow}. (Spoiler alert: Joe is now behind bars for 22 years for 17 counts of animal abuse and a murder-for-hire plot involving Baskin. He is currently appealing the harshness of his sentence.)

Why is Carole Baskin suing Netflix?

Carole, and her husband Howard, are suing Netflix after they appeared in the trailer for the second series - you can watch it here below - which they are accusing is a breach of contract. Now, according to a lawsuit filed on Monday, the couple would like all footage of them to be dropped from the upcoming series.

'By utilizing the film footage of the Baskins and Big Cat Rescue secured by Royal Goode Productions under the Appearance Releases in ‘sizzle reels’ and promotional trailers for the sequel entitled Tiger King 2, the Defendants are in breach of the terms of the Appearance Releases,' the lawsuit states, according to Variety.

Carole, if you remember, is the owner of Big Cat Rescue, and she has an issue with how she was portrayed in the first series. Legal papers also say: 'The Tiger King 1 series wrongly attempted to suggest that Big Cat Rescue abused its animals by keeping them in very small cages while not making clear that the animals actually reside in expansive enclosures.' Carole also claims the first series implicated in her in the death of her ex-husband, Don Lewis, who disappeared in 1997.

What will Tiger King 2 cover?

The big question, indeed. The second series, according to Netlifx, will 'continue its twisted course' 'as newfound revelations emerge on the motivations, backstories, and secrets of America’s most notorious big cat owners. Old enemies and frenemies, including Jeff Lowe, Tim Stark, Allen Glover, and James Garretson return for another season of murder, mayhem, and madness. Thought you knew the whole story? Just you wait.'

When will Tiger King 2 air on Netflix?

Not long to wait - the series will air from November 17. Just maybe try and forget the first lockdown while you're watching.
