On last night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, Caitlyn Jenner revealed that she doesn’t actually know any Kanye West songs. That is, despite West being a member of her family for seven years now.
During a pantomime challenge that saw Jenner star as the Fairy Godmother, the reality star was asked to perform one of West’s songs. Not a particular one, just literally any from his 13-album discography. ‘I don’t know any’, Caitlyn professed, before she was seemingly let off with the challenge.
‘Unfortunately, I don't know any Kanye West songs,’ she reiterated to the cameras after the challenge before admitting, 'I'm going to get into so much trouble when I get home!'
The admission came as a shock to many, given just how long Jenner has known West and the fact she has seen him perform multiple times. In fact, one of Jenner’s most famous public appearances after her transition was when the entire Kardashian/Jenner family went to West’s Life of Pablo album launch in Madison Square Garden.
The clan all wore West’s latest Yeezy collection in what was considered the first big show of support for Jenner following her coming out documentary the year previously.
Jenner was also one of several celebrities featured in West’s song ‘Famous’ that used synthetic nude ‘sleeping’ bodies. Plus, the pair have shown a close bond with each other on a number of occasions over the years, with Jenner thanking West for helping his step-daughter Kim come to terms with her transition.
Ultimately, it’s just a classic example of your parents-in-law not having a clue what you actually do with your life. If anything, this just shows us that visiting the in-laws is the same for the Kardashian/Jenner/West clan as any of us. Roll on those riveting Christmas dinner conversations where you explain for the 7th time ‘no, actually, my job is actually…’
That said, Jenner wasn't the only one who didn't know their family member's lyrics. Roman Kemp needed a lyric sheet to sing along to his dad's super famous hit, Gold.
