Unexpected celebrity friendships are sometimes just as surprising as unexpected celebrity relationships. And one celebrity friendship we definitely didn't expect has just blossomed - between none other than Bridgerton's Nicola Coughlan and pretty much the most famous woman in the world, Kim Kardashian{
Like the majority of people with a Netflix account, it turns out Kim was obsessed with Bridgerton . So you can imagine her reaction when Nicola - who played Penelope Featherington - tweeted that a large part of the show was inspired by America's first family of reality TV.
'As the world’s number one Bridgerton Stan does Kim Kardashian know that the Kardashians were a massive inspiration for the Featheringtons and we talked about them all the time during our fittings,' Nicola asked on Twitter. 'Because I feel like she should know this.'
Proving how dedicated she is to the show, Kim saw the tweet because she was sent it in a Bridgerton WhatsApp group.
'WHAT?!?! I am freaking out!!!!!! This tweet was sent to me on my @bridgerton group chat! Can I please come to a fitting?!?! It would make my whole life!!!!!! I love you Lady W!!!'
Replying to Kim, Nicola not only invited the reality star to the set - but also shared some fashion trivia which means the pair were already linked, even if Kim didn't know it. 'Omg yesss of course we would love to have you,' she wrote. 'Also did you know that Mr Pearl made your corset for the Met Gala and the very next one he made was mine for Bridgerton? You’ve been part of the Bridgerton world for longer than you know!' (That was the corset Kim wore to the 2019 gala under her crystal-dripping Thierry Mugler dress, which was so tight Kim later said it left 'indentations' on her body.)
Who knows, could we see a Kardashian cameo in the series? It has just been renewed for series four and five - so they must be able to fit Kim in somewhere, right?
